Why Travel Medicine?

Travel medicine and travel clinics have come about because of the unique needs of travelers going to developing countries and remote areas of the world.  Travel medicine clinics provide information on diseases, outbreaks, vaccinations and medicines for travelers.

Are Travel Consultations Expensive?
A pre-travel consultation saves time and maximizes your safety during travel.  A consultation is a wise investment against traveler's diarrhea, hepatitis, malaria, and other travel related diseases.  Travel related vaccinations should not be given without a consultation.

How Do I Know What Vaccines I Need?
Your travel medicine specialist will recommend the vaccines and medications that will be of the greatest benefit to you without unnecessary expense.

What Is Involved In A Consultation?
You will need to provide information about your medical history, previous travel, vaccinations, itinerary, purpose of travel and length of stay.    Recommendations regarding specific health precautions, vaccinations, and prescriptions will be given at that time.

Can I Have A Consultation & Get My Shots The Same Day?
Yes, our travel clinic carries almost all travel vaccines including: hepatitis A & B, typhoid, meningitis, polio, Japanese encephalitis and yellow fever.

When Should I Come In?
Call for an appointment as soon as possible.  Some travel vaccinations require several boosters over weeks or months.  You can't vaccinate too early.

What If I Get sick While Traveling or After I Return Home?
You will be supplied with information on where to purchase travel insurance, embassy phone numbers, and how to find English speaking doctors in the countries you will be visiting.  If you are sick on returning home, we provide services for travel related illnesses.
